I had the opportunity to be part of the thatching team at Mélanie and Sébastien’s house –2m26 studio. A phone call... a touch of madness on both sides! And a week later there I was!

From harvest to the ridge...

The construction site was managed by the incredible team of Miyama Kayabuki Co. A magnificent example of what can be done with desire and local resources: people, trees, bark, branches, bamboo, miscanthus, reed, rice straw... and the harmony that results in the link between architecture and landscape. So inspiring! And what a country...
